It is #50 Salmon Mentai, and our podcast is finally up!
You can listen here. Worry not, it’s still the first part! We decided to split it into two parts because we don’t want it to be one long and boring podcast haha.
Unfortunately we made the podcast merely in Bahasa Indonesia. But, we write the conversation in English below!
Questions from host Sardy: “Why do you want to have a newsletter?”
Meiska and Elsa: “Because it's more personal and we like to write and think we can express things better with words.”
Q: “Why not podcast or vlog?”
Meiska and Elsa: “Because we're shy (and introverts!)”
Q: “Why is it called Salmon Mentai?”
Meiska and Elsa: “Because we love sushi, and the salmon mentai menu! And mostly because it's catchy! Haha even though most of our friends are confused and think we are selling foods.”
Q: “What’s the most favorite Salmon Mentai edition?”
Elsa: “Edition #30 when I talked about how feeling wheels that helped me to express my feelings apart from happy or unhappy.”
Meiska: “Edition #5 our first SalMonday about my life purpose, and edition #10 when I described about inspiring leader characters from my favorite anime and how it affected to my own career path in football industry.”
Q: “And.. what’s the least favorite Salmon Mentai edition?”
Meiska: “Edition #15 about love equality.. it’s a bit difficult for me to elaborate the equality while I have been dating, yet to be in a later relationship stage of marriage.”
Elsa: “Edition #44 when I was just commenting some memes and being dumb lol. Was I myself or 9gag? I don’t know.”
QnA part 1
Who is the designer behind Salmon Mentai artwork? From @felovania
Meiska: “Of course it's Elsa”
How to manage anger? From @yustikamaulana
Meiska: “I tell my friends immediately! Because it makes me feel relieved faster. It doesn' matter I always curse but at least I don't hold back. I usually tell my best friends at work first, because all my anger mostly come from work related hahaha.”
Elsa: “I have been rarely mad to people because I am conflict avoidance person, but once I was mad I would burst it out. It was beyond my limit of tolerance, I didn’t care anymore so I vented out. But if I was just slightly feeling annoyed, I would sleep, took a shower, or declutter my room.”
What do you want to do once the pandemic is over? From @titoadiwikarta
Elsa: “I will go back home. I can fly now actually, it is not because of closed border between Sweden and Indonesia. It is because my grandma is at my home, so I don’t want her being exposed to the risk because of me.”
Meiska: “I love being in a city after all. It actually did not change much because I still go to office, but I miss watching the new released movies, and going to music concerts!”
How do you manage your time to keep writing while having bunch of other activities? From @ariefalfa
Elsa: “I wrote the outline first in my phone notes or laptop whenever the idea popped up. We started to write longer texts for earlier Salmon Mentai editions, yet we changed to keep it shorter. We saw it was better for the readers and for us to write as well.”
Meiska: “Firstly, we started this because we are working from home. My job is usually going away from office, organizing match, etc, but this time it makes me have more screen time. If you ever noticed sometimes our newsletter is published late than our regular time, most of the time it's because of me! Hahaha. But we normally let each other know if we can't make it on time. The last who writes will immediately have to publish the newsletter. Most importantly, we are committed to write.”
If you can live an alternate life, what would it be? Elaborate! From @inezarie
Meiska: “I wrote before that I really wanted to be a superhero. So, probably, in alternate universe I'm one of Avengers members, trying to save the world from another Thanos. My favorite super power is strength, that's why I really like Spider-Man!”
Elsa: “I dreamed of becoming a dolphin! Or, being male is also interesting because guys need not to think for dresses, gown, or those complicated attires to be gorgeous.”
Many thanks to:
