#44 Self-love is not selfish
you cannot truly love another until you know how to love yourself — Unknown

On our last episode, Elsa invited her friend, Guatam Kohli! He proposed us theme of how to overcome unfulfilled expectations. In case you missed it, click here.

What is your favorite Hollywood romcoms? Growing up, my father has DVD collections across genres, and some of them are romcoms —maybe initially it was for my mother. Sometimes he brought us to when we ran for errands at the mall, and stopped by at his DVD store where he is one of the loyal costumer. So we always got promotion when buy 7 free 1 haha! So here are list of my favorite Hollywood romcoms:
Love, Actually (2003)
A multidimensional love stories plots! It’s like a reunion of big and well-known actors that warms your heart because its christmas theme. This movie actually a reminder for us that love is all around, it can be found with your beloved partner, family, and friends. There are ten couple stories being portrayed, and of course our favorite is the Julie, Peter, and Mark story! Because for me, confessing love without any intention might hurt, but we have to be happy after all for our friends, because we love them too. If you’re looking for a movie similar with this one, try to watch He’s Just Not That Into You.
500 Days of Summer (2009)
Mixed timelines of Tom love story with Summer. I first watched it during high school, and love everything in this movie except how contradictory people’s opinions over whose mistaken from the first place. I love the songs, locations, outfits, interior designs, and many other. This movie also inspired a lot of people with the so-called IKEA date hahaha —not that I wanna do it, though. Oh, I also love the expectation vs reality scenes! While at the end of the day, season changed and you move on before you know it!
Devil Wears Prada (2006)
Believe it or not, I watched this movie a few months ago when I was still working from home! This movie inspired me a lot! Maybe because it felt so real, wherever you are working from —especially when your direct report is —or you’re an assistant for— someone arrogant, ambitious, yet talented. Andy (Anna Hathaway) showed me it takes time to adapt and show who I really am eventually. But I have to admit the personality of Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) was kind of extreme, but it’s a moment of realization as well that, this kind of people exist!

Happy weekend! I swear to God, this week has been a stressed week for me. I finally cried after months I hadn’t cried. What else could be worse than a terrible love (and/or) life story?

So let’s have a chill weekend with memes. I feel like I want to do that at 3 am, after nailing my Packaging Technology and Development exam just today!

*Or the Republic book by Plato, damn*

*I would be happy by having BF — Billion Fucking dollars*

*as I’m only a slave in this tiny world who wonder how to pay bills*

*Which one is yours? I’m tangent lines, definitely. I’m just hoping it wouldn’t be an exponential rate like the pandemic cases everyday*

*A ‘rolling eyes’ is applicable for all languages*

*If you got diarrhea, you would be technically full of shit*

*Even though your day is terrible, let it be terrible in new and interesting ways!*
